Antoine HERSCHER
Introduction
Antoine Herscher was born in 1955. He lives and works in Arles
He said to be a silent storyteller. The eye of the photograph, trained as a graphic designer, is sharp and precise. He knows how to capture the moment to create a parallel universe. The Arbor project published by Actes Sud and presented here offers to the viewer a dreamlike depiction of the peculiar presence, dating back from immemorial times, of trees. Each one of his images puts side-to-side ancient legends and psychoanalytic interpretation. Antoine Herscher portrays a nature watching us/him, while striking up a joyful or disconcerting and almost supernatural conversation.
