Introduction

Stephen Eastaugh was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1960 and, explicably, has two fathers. Both were sailors and ? both ? were either the cause or inspiration for Eastaugh?s self-diagnosed disease: an unremitting, uncontrollable and incurable need to travel.
In the guise of artist-as-raconteur and traveler-as-artist  Eastaugh has explored eighty countries scattered across all continents over the past three decades. He makes art on the road and has recently spent a full Antarctic winter in 2009 as the official Australian Antarctic Arts Fellow at Mawson Station.  He currently moves between Australia, Argentina and?.elsewhere.
