Introduction

Born in 1955,  Lives and works between Paris and Chinon.
First Cherry painted by Jacques Halbert was in 1975 when he was a studient at Bourges Fine Arts School. The Cherry of his works became a mischievous motif inside the general pictorial mouvement in the 70': an obsessional and personal ritornello  investing as well performances.
« painting cherries, everywhere, everytime, and just care about it ! » says the tireless « cerisiste ». He takes the Blue, Red and Green and use clearly the figurative motif in abstraction. He's work is made in radical context that pushed painting to its very limits, as Daniel Buren or Niele Toroni and Roman Opalka have done in their specific way.
